Chad and I have been very lucky to have a wonderful "sitter" for Reagan. She is the only one "Mrs. Rebecca" keeps and as a new Mommy it made the transition of going back to work SO much easier. You know she's happy when you drop her off and she's smiling and when you pick her up she's talking and cooing. Chad and I talked a lot over Christmas break about what we were going to do next year. We knew it was time to face putting our sweet girl in daycare. Just like every parent, we want what's best for her and we know being around other babies and kids will be good for her.
So on MLK Jr. Day, we decided to tour a daycare some close friends use. We called before going to make sure they were open. The director told us to come on by anytime. First, good feeling. When we got there, we were welcomed by the director and Reagan quickly warmed up to her. Another good feeling. We first went in the baby room. We put Reagan on the floor with the other babies and she had a blast. It was great to see her interacting with other babies. We walked around the rest of the daycare and we couldn't help but feel at home. we liked it so much we put a deposit down so we could hold a spot for her for next school year. We were thrilled that Reagan and Maddie (3 weeks apart) would go to "preschool" together!
Of course I was so excited I shared the news and my co-worker decided to check it out for her baby "LG" (11 days apart). It is so exciting to think about Reagan growing up with Maddie and "LG"! We are so glad this big decision worked out perfectly.
Reagan had her first big playdate today at the library, "Itty Bitty Bookworms". She had so much fun playing with Ellie and "LG". And us Moms did too! :)
Interacting with other babies is a new stage for Reagan. It is so much fun to watch!

7 months have flown by!
Every time I write an entry I tell myself that I will do better with this whole blogging thing. Then I get caught up with enjoying this FUN stage Reagan is going through and before I know it another month has gone by! I guess all that matters is eventually I will be able to share these entries with her and she can hear all about how she's grown.
This has, by far, been my favorite month with her. I had two weeks off with her for Christmas so I really got to see her grow and change daily. Here is what she's been up to...
-Reagan is sitting up all by herself. She did it for the first time on Christmas Day. Now she loves to sit in the floor with her toys.
-She has 2 teeth, both on the bottom. You can see them if you look really hard in the above pictures. And boy are they sharp when she bites down!
-She loved Christmas! As much as a 6 month old can! ;) Here are some family Christmas pictures.
-Reagan loves standing with help. She feels like a big girl!
-Reagan still likes her "lovey", but she absolutely LOVES afghans. My Mamma made quite a few for her and she lives them all.
-She gets very excited when it's time to eat. She starts bouncing and giggling with excitement. Her favorite foods are bananas and sweet potatoes. We've tried the meat baby foods, but she didn't really care for those. She will probably like the "real" thing better.
-She still loves music and she even bounces and shakes her arms while sitting, as if she's dancing.
-Reagan sits up in the tub now. She loves to reach for the toys as the float around her. Sometimes she dives forward as she reaches for them.
-She weighed 18 lbs and was 26 1/2 inches long at her 6 month checkup.
-Reagan still wears size 3 diapers and size 9 months in clothes.
-She is a drooling machine!
-Reagan loved the paper at Christmas.
-She took her first big road trip over Christmas break to Tennessee. She traveled really well. We drove at night so she slept for most of the trip.
-She's trying to crawl. She has all the movements, she just hasn't put them together yet.
-Reagan naps 2-3 times each day and we put her to bed at 7:30pm.
-She's starting to reach out and give a "hug".
-Reagan rolls over and over to get to stuff, until she gets to crawling.
-She loves to babble on and on, "ba-ba-ba"is her favorite.
We love you so much baby girl and you bring us so much joy!
